About this Event: This workshop/webinar was about how we can build the well-being of men in the community through the Men’s Sheds Program.

Details: This event, sponsored by the Institute for Health Living and Chronic Disease Prevention (IHLCDP) and the Movember-funded Men’s Depression and Suicide Network, was held on Wednesday, January 28, 12 – 1:30 pm PST at UBC’s Okanagan campus – Room 129, Reichwald Health Sciences Centre. The speakers were:

  1. Dr. John Oliffe, Prof. UBC Nursing, Community-based Men’s Sheds—A catalyst for promoting men’s health.
  2. Dr. Corey MacKenzie, Associate Prof, U Manitoba Psychology, Winnipeg men share their thoughts on how to start and grow a Men’s Shed.
  3. Mr. Art Post, President, Okanagan Men’s Shed Association, The Men’s Shed in the Okanagan: Building a shed from the ground up.
