Veteran’s Transition Network

Led by Dr Marv Westwood, the Veteran’s Transition Network is a Canadian charity that deliver mental health services for veterans, and assist them in reintegrating into civilian life from coast to coast.

The BUOY Project: Preventing Suicide in Boys and Men

Based at The University of Melbourne, this collaborative research project focused on interventions to prevent suicide among boys and men in Australia. It specifically sought to test seven different suicide prevention interventions for boys and men via a series of randomised controlled trials.

Dads in Gear

This is an 8-week innovative program that integrates three components – tobacco reduction, fathering and healthy living. This mobilizes men’s positive relations and fathering to prevent cardiovascular diseases.

Dads in Gear Indigenous

Informed by Indigenous experts and fathers, this program is tailored specifically for men who want to be involved, healthy and smoke free dads. The 10-week program supports smoking cessation, fathering and physical activity.

Men Building Better Relationships (MBBR)

The MBBR project was conducted with the goal of exploring the experiences of Canadian-based men who have or are currently (at the time of the study) experiencing relationship breakdowns including divorce, separations or break-ups.

Promoting Healthier Masculinities in the Macedon Ranges

This project was developed and implemented with the goal of developing a suite of recommendations for the promotion of healthy masculinities among men within the Shire region.

If I Were Tom

This is an interactive video drama that follows Tom and his experiences with prostate cancer. The website also provides advice, tips, and resources on a range of prostate cancer-related topics.

QuitNow Men

This is a unique resource and toolkit designed to assist men in their efforts to reduce and quit smoking. It was created in collaboration with over a hundred men who used to smoke, and wanted to quit.

Hat Trick

Based in the Okanagan Valley, this free program was developed for guys who wanted to be more active, eat healthier and get connected with their favourite hockey teams.

POWERPLAY at Work

This is an award-winning evidence-based workplace wellness program for men that offers unique resources to support healthy and active lifestyles.

Man-Up Against Suicide

Encompassing the sharing of photographs and narratives from individuals impacted by male suicide, this initiative breaks the silence and stimulates much-needed conversations about targeted male suicide prevention in Canada.

Contact! Unload

This play was co-developed by veterans who told the story of soldiers as they transition back into civilian life. It was played throughout Canada and the UK, and was featured at the 2017 Invictus Games.
